Combed Top goes through an extra process where the fibers are aligned and made parallel. Rambouillet fiber has similar properties to merino wool, but has a longer staple length. It is also known for its elasticity from its high crimp structure and matte finish in dyeing.  Unlike roving, the combed top is free of all short fibers and any vegetation, for a silky-smooth finish.
